Chamfer diameters and drill depths

I have been doing holes in parts for years and they always have to be tweeked at the machine tool. Pro gets in the ballpark but not accurate. I am building my tools as assemblies and I want to make my tools accurate. What are the options to get want I want? I am currently using a standard drilling sequence for spotting and setting a blind, tip hole dapth and I use a make datum thru on all my other drilling. I am trying Csink but it is not comming out accurate either.

NC Sheetmetal

I just found out that my company has a license for NC Sheetmetal and I would like to utilize it for nesting flat patterns in an attempt to maximize material/minimize scrap. I wanted to see if anyone could point me to a tutorial or recommend a book that would help me get up to speed wit this module? I checked the PTC learning materials and it appears that there is no training for NC Sheetmetal (only the Sheetmetal design module).

Surface milling by cutlines removed in Creo2

Thankyou PTC, for removing one of the best features in your manufacturing option.

I can see you 'tried' to replace it with cutline milling, but whilst the end result may be the same in terms of NC code, the command interface is seriously slow, clunky and has brought my workstation to it's knee's on the multiple attempts using it.

Creo 2 (M020) now uninstalled and back to Creo 1, I will not renew maintainace contract unless this improves or goes back to how it was, there's no point if the newer versions aren't any better !?

Just don't understand why you (PTC) have to fiddle with features that work REALLY well, and keep your existing user-base from straying to other software, of which some are now much better and cheaper to license

Thankyou again

Creo CNC Program and post processor code generating capabilities

Hi,

Currently we are dealing with 2 machines at client site . Now how can we know that if code generated by Creo Machining extension can be directly integrated with these machines or not. If we require to develop post processsor then how much it will cost to develop new post procesor.

Is there some list of machines and manufacturers which show direct integration or post processor requirement? I am from sales back ground so i need basic info.

Does anyone know what settings in vericut are needed to show a violation of the "reference model" in the manufacturing file? The softwareonly shows red when tool cuts something in "rapid". Also, does anyone know how to save the settings in vericut (config?) so i don't have to change them every time.

Thanks in advance

APT file Location in Creo 2

I recently loaded Creo 2, M240 (was at M090) and I've noticed and issue with my apt files.

When I output an Operation, I can Post Process my apt files as I did before, but if I run a Material Removal Simulation (now Moduleworks, was Vericut) I have to search for those apt files because the Material Removal Simulation is looking at the Working Directory instead defaulting to the home directory where all my apts are stored.

I've scrolled though the config options, but nothing seems to describe what I am looking for.  The Post Processor seems to always look to the home directory for apt files to process.

I appreciate any help with this.

Thank You,

Matt

Preventing B-(minus) rotation from occuring in G68 mode when posting a file

Does anyone out there know how to prevent the B-Axis from going in the minus rotation when posting code?

I've tried a few different C/L commands that will move B in the plus direction before the programmed rotation occurs in the .ncl file.

We need to run in B plus most of the time for clearance reasons.

Our machine is a head/table machine (B head, C table)  The C-axis is parallel to Z-axis.

Thanks

Inserting, editing CL Data

My goal is to be able to add or edit CL Data in any area of the CL code, so that the edits stay in the manufacturing model in case they are coded out at a later time. According to these PTC instructions Creo Parametric Help Center, it should be easy and available right in the Play Path box.  This would be extremely useful, however I do not have the option, mine is greyed out and unselect able.

MyBitmap.jpg

The only other option that I can find is by going to manufacturing tab and then selecting Edit/CL Command, however this only allows me to select "beginning" or "end" for my placement of code, and does not allow me to specifically place lines of code like I am attempting to do.  In this mode I can also select Edit/Edit Mode in the code window and change the code and then save it, but it does not seem to keep my added CL Code.  I just want to be able to add or edit CL Code on any line that I desire, anyone have any ideas?

guys.

Creo 4.0 - Missing Sequences in Manufacturing

$

Creo 4.0 was recently loaded on my computer and I am starting to familiarize with it.  We've been using 2.0 for a few years.

My manufacturing sequences are not visible in the model tree.  I believe everything looks to be pulling from my tree.cfg and config.pro files.  The operations are there and can actually be played.  The tool list is there too.  I am just missing all the sequences.

What setting am I missing?

Thanks for any help!

oscillating toolpath

I was shown a toolpath today, created in MasteCAM, that oscillates in z with options to create either a sine wave or peaked path. In this case it was being used to cut a laminate and avoid heating up the tool so much. Other than sketching the path, is there any way to create this in Creo?

Hi All,

I am not able retrieve Mould base and I've checked the options "Mold Component Catalog" and "Plastic Advisor" during installation and also installed mold expert extension MED-60360-CD-400_M010.zip as downloaded from PTC website.

Still i am not able to retrieve Mould base, it says that it cannot be retrieved.

Kindly need some advice,

Roughing sequence and plunge feed

$

Dear all,

When using the roughing sequence to rough a pocket I see there is no option to enter a plunge feed.

When using an end mill this is essential in order not to damage the flutes.

I've tried entering a ramp speed and specify explicitly a ramp angle of 90° (which is the default setting).

This has no effect on the resulting toolpath. The only feed applied is the default cut_feed.

2017-04-20_11-02-40.png

The volume rough sequence does have this option but I can't use that sequence for this particular toolpath.

2017-04-20_11-04-06.png

Is it possible to specify a plunge feed with the roughing sequence ?
